So I'm really pleased to announce that Lethe has signed some amazing titles for 2016. Next year may still seems a ways off, but before you know it snow will be on the ground and I will want to be curled up in a warm bed with a nice book to read. Actually, I read all my books in bed...no tease. So here are just some of the many titles we will be publishing in 2016:
Friends of Hyakinthos will be a gay-themed fantasy anthology edited by your's truly. All of the stories will be inspired by homoerotic Greek myths and the impact of Hellenism on more modern generations. I'm really excited because it will include both names familiar to Lethe readers as well as authors we've never worked with before. This will be a late spring/early summer release.

So this week we have a marvelous historical novel about a family pulled into the crime of 19th century New York and a hilarious gay mystery set on a college campus. Both books are available in print and ebook editions if you are not a fan of dulcet renditions. This darkly lyrical and violent family saga set in a butcher shop in New York circa 1930 tells the story of three Irish brothers struggling to find their roles - to define their lives and express their dreams - amid the poverty of a broken home, an alcoholic father, and the violent society of Hell's Kitchen. Dickie is guided by an almost animal desire to get what he wants and, as a fighter, is fearless in his pursuit of being respected by mobsters. Walt, the middle brother, romances a woman whose educated father sees the lad as gutter trash. Then there is frail Adlai, who finds himself on the most perilous path - an illicit affair with his oldest brother's best friend. The Butcher's Sons is an engaging read about desperate young men determined to do whatever they can to find something gilded amid the grime of old New York. It could be curtains for college theatre professor Nicky Abbondanza. With dead bodies popping up all over campus, Nicky must use his drama skills to figure out who is playing the role of murderer before it is lights out for Nicky and his colleagues. Complicating matters is Nicky's huge crush on Noah Oliver, a gorgeous assistant professor in his department, who may or may not be involved with a cocky graduate assistant... and is also the top suspect for the murders!
We're thrilled to announce that Scottish author and famed sodomite Hal Duncan has two titles nominated for the British Fantasy Awards: Scruffians! (in Best Collection) and Rhapsody (in Best Non-Fiction). Best of luck to Hal...the winners are announced in September.
